Through the groundbreaking show “The Portable Universe / El Universo en tus Manos: Thought and Splendor of Indigenous Colombia,” the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) brings a new museological approach to the arts of the Ancient Americas. Julia Burtenshaw, LACMA’s Assistant Curator in Art of the Ancient Americas, shares with us the six-year process that went into the making of this exhibition, from its obstacles to its victories.
